GTC101 - Guanidinium Thiocyanate

Guanidine thiocyanate is a powerful denaturing and chaotropic agent. It’s used to solubilize cells in molecular biology applications. A protocol for using guanidine thiocyanate in RNA extraction has been published⁽¹⁾. For RNA extraction protocols, guanidine thiocyanate concentrations of 4 M to 6 M are typically used.
